چکیده

Road networks are major infrastructures that support the economic development in both developed and developing countries. Bottom ash (BA) is a by-product from coal-fired powerplants, which composed of lipophilic molecule with effective reactivity to bituminous binder. BA was adopted this research, as green fine aggregate, improve mechanistic performance asphalt concretes research. The effect BA-replacement ratio (0%, 10%, 15%, 20% 25%, by total weight natural aggregate) on Marshall stability flow, indirect tensile strength (ITS), BA-asphalt concrete, were examined. tests included indirect-tensile condition (indirect resilient modulus (IT Mr), fatigue life (ITFL)) compressive (permanent deformation (PD), rut depth, skid resistance). replacement improves index, ITS, up optimum ratio, 5%. change IT Mr found be linearly proportional for all ratios. ITFL dependent upon repeated stress level can estimated terms Mr. For condition, PD, rutting, resistances improved replacement. lowest PD depth well highest resistance, ITFL, at outcome research will promote usage cleaner additive concrete pavement, useful engineering environmental perspectives.

Full Usage of Reclaimed Asphalt Concretes as Bases

Recycling of asphalt concrete is increasingly used as a major rehabilitation method in Japan because it can conserve natural resources, reduce costs and save energy. In this study, reclaimed asphalt concrete from Tokyo International Airport was evaluated for use in four types of base materials: recycled granular material, recycled cement stabilized material, recycled cement-emulsified asphalt s...

Corrosion Resistance Performance of Fly Ash Blended Cement Concretes

Durability of reinforced concrete with respect to corrosion of reinforcement is one of the major aspects to be considered in the management of civil infrastructure systems. An accelerated laboratory test method developed at SERC where the concrete specimen containing rebar is subjected to polarization under a constant voltage in a sodium chloride solution. It is found that the current response ...

High performance of treated and washed MSWI bottom ash granulates as natural aggregate replacement within earth-moist concrete.

Municipal solid waste incineration bottom ash was treated with specially designed dry and wet treatment processes, obtaining high quality bottom ash granulate fractions (BGF) suitable for up to 100% replacement of natural gravel in concrete. The wet treatment (using only water for separating and washing) significantly lowers the leaching of e.g. chloride and sulfate, heavy metals (antimony, mol...

2 Lightweight - Aggregate Concretes in Compression

One research field in Leipzig deals with the design of high strength lightweight-aggregate concretes (HSLWAC). Due to the huge waveband of this concretes with all possible combinations of lightweight-aggregates and mortar matrix the formulation of general rules is difficult. Therefore both components lightweight-aggregates and mortar matrix will be investigated in detail in order to achieve a d...

Physical and environmental properties of asphalt mixtures containing incinerator bottom ash.

This paper presents parts of the results from a research project sponsored by Taiwan Environmental Protection Administration (TEPA), investigating both the physical and environmental properties of asphalt mixtures using different amount of incinerator bottom ash (IBA) as fine aggregate substitution. The Marshall mix design method was used to determine the design asphalt content and evaluate the...
